radiator
by m lewis redford
it is not what I plan to do
that is important
it is not what I didn’t achieve
that is important
it is not giving word to my voice
that is important
it is not the fog that they get lost in
that is important
it is not the unique perspective
that is important
it is not the insignificance
that is important
it is not what I need to do to
fill an anxiety
it is not falling short which
confirms the anxiety
it is not the tragedy which
confirms that failure
it is not the anger which
expresses the void
it is not the humiliation
that didn’t speak
it is the breath that links
them all like both
the indents and the ribs
of this radiator
I sit and look at both of
them just white
metal radiating heat

Love it
it is not
what is important
that is important
quite so -
so quiet
