stranger
if we met
bandy-leg walk along Whitehall stands astride
the edge of the pavement with phone up to
photograph the balustrades and bulbous finials
(ignored the Women of World War II) to add
to the hundred sights that take his eye this
morning and all
the while I sit
in front of the
memorial and
write the words
to accompany
each one
