cloud
out
into the car park
high in the town
high in the Weald
under a blue wide sky
shadows from the lamp posts
hang across the air and
looking past the roof
tops of the high street
I couldn’t see the
North Downs anymore
like the childhood realisation
that all adults have a job in life
