2019, 5*, appearance, architecture, art, cows, Darmstadt, east, empire, history, illusion, life, line, mass, reality, survival, thinking

                so, lowing
                and looking east
                from all the crumbling musculature
                of past empire,
                chewing cud

                ninety nine percent
of all and ever species have become extinct and I
                cannot deconstruct
                the categories-
                enough to read

                the lines and mass
                of stijl, reminds me
that I try to be far too clever trying to read
                despite all
                depiction

mused from a visit ot the Museum at Darmstadt attending the celebration of Jon and Sara’s wedding

2019, 6*, airport, being, clouds, conformity, discernment, existence, flying, height, horizon, mass, matter, passing, progress, quiet, sky, space, sun, thought, travelling

                horizon

to a quiet corner of the airport,
there were handrails across the sky

                with steps up and over
passing clouds; later, up and climbing

to cruise, we have clearance to pass
                through floating land

{it’s OK, it’s OK, strato-technology can only allow crust and cohesion with unauthorised approach, otherwise the whole cannot maintain buoyancy; and unauthorised approach just cannot frequently be allowed}

                but at 37 000 feet
                the thought writhes:

does space allow the mass within,
or does space tear horizontal shards in

                implacable matter by
                any possible progress

                until there is
no possibility of making any discernment at all

                when the sun has fallen
                below our own event?

we went to Lanzarote for a brief holiday – or did Lanzarote come to us through the medium of fuselage; either way … the further you travel the deeper you stay where you are; flying … still weird

                      impressionism

                      when it appeared that being
                      took more than looking
                      to survive in grander scale

La Terrasse at Vasouy Edouard Vuillard

people froze in pose of living
                      and, standing, turned from the
emerald skyline and blue of leaf

                      until the ‘chirrup’-click
fit to portrait – maybe landscape –
enlarged, reduced (and whopaintedthis ‘click’ gottit) of

                      chair standing but not on
                      the tiles by the
turquoise door blue – wassnext! – standing

right in front (of the view
looking to be written on a notepad) right there
to one side of the frame in profile, ‘like I was …’

looking in ‘ready’ chirrup – then
                                                                      nudged
passing out of everyone’s way – ‘sorry!’

                      glasses on the head before
                      wheatfield with cypresses, hennaered
                      hair before rock shadows, and

tell me, is it the transluscent beer
or the backward look to another order
the point in the corner of the café-concert?

witnessed between elbows at the National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, London, 030515: La Terrasse at Vasouy, The Garden, Edouard Vuillard, 1901, reworked 1935; Van Gogh’s Chair, Vincent van Gogh, 1888; A Wheatfield, with Cypresses, Vincent van Gogh, 1889; Hillside in Provence, Paul Cézanne, about 1890-2; Corner of a Café-Concert, Edouard Manet, probably 1878-80
